Do you need help to make a new Universal Credit claim?

At Citizens Advice Epping Forest, we can support you to make a new claim for Universal Credit, from opening your account to receiving your first full payment.

Our trained advisers can help you to:
  • Set-up your Universal Credit account
  • Complete your claim to-dos
  • Verify your identity
  • Make sure you’re providing the right evidence to the Jobcentre
  • Understand what Universal Credit will mean for you

What does the service offer?

The service doesn’t include personal budgeting support or debt advice though these are available within our local Citizens Advice offices. The service does cover all the support you need to make your Universal credit claim up to receiving your first payment.

Who is the service for?

This service is available to anyone who needs support making a Universal Credit claim. We offer support from starting the claim through to the first full payment - if a client needs help that falls under that remit then we can support them through this service. The service includes an individual needs assessment to help us work out the type of support that’s right for each client. That means that anyone can refer into us and you can also self-refer. Our referral partners don’t need to decide what type of support a client would like before they signpost or refer them into our service.
